Die Fledermaus: Sunday April 18th, 2010

On Sunday April 18, 2010, the ALS Hope Foundation will be presenting an Encore performance of the comic operetta “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss II at the Auditorium of the Ursuline Academy located at 1106 Pennsylvania Ave in Wilmington Delaware. The festivities begin at 6:30 PM with a raffle and dessert followed by Strauss’s “Die Fledermaus” performed by the Sunderman Conservatory under the direction of Dr. Kathleen Sasnett. This is Strauss's most celebrated and popular operetta ‐ intoxicatingly melodious and exuberant. Mistaken identities, flirtations at a masked ball, elegant frivolities and confusions of all kinds provide a hilarious vehicle for some of the most captivating music ever written. A blissful show ‐ especially rewarding for societies with high singing standards. The Overture is one of the most popular ever written, with five of the best tunes woven into a framework of the great 'Fledermaus Waltz'. Tickets to the performance are $20 (Students and Seniors $10). All proceeds from this event will go directly to the ALS Hope Foundation.
