ALS Hope Foundation Employment Opportunities

Position Open:

Grant Writer/Development Director
ALS Hope Foundation

The ALS Hope Foundation has recently established the Philadelphia Institute of Neurodegenerative Disorders. The purpose of the Institute is to support researchers in Pennsylvania who are working on diseases of the brain, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson’s disease, etc. The initial focus will be on ALS. We are seeking an experienced grant writer/development director who will assist the Institute in attracting corporate/foundation funding and private gifts to support the growth of the Institute. The Director will also assist researchers with writing grants to support their research programs.

The primary qualification is demonstrated success in attracting funds for medical research causes. Since the Grant Writer/Development Director will serve as the guiding resource for the Institute's nascent development program, the successful applicant must be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, and have the interpersonal skills to work as part of a team.

This is a one-year position, funded through a grant from the State of Pennsylvania. Salary is $50,000/yr plus health benefits. Continuation of the position depends on our fundraising success in growing the Institute.

Interested candidates must submit a resume, along with a cover letter explaining why they are interested in this position, to:
Jeffrey Deitch, Managing Director, at jeff@alshopefoundation.org
or by mail to:
P.O. Box 40777
Philadelphia, PA 19107
