Pasadena Marathon
![]() My Dad, My Inspiration…… Dear Family and Friends, As you may know, I have been training for the Pasadena Marathon being held on Sunday, March 22, 2009. Not only will this Marathon prove to be a physical and emotional accomplishment, but more importantly, a meaningful and rewarding one! I am proud to say I am running this Marathon in support of my dad and the ALS Hope Foundation. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, took my dad’s life in 1977. ALS is a terminal neurological disorder that causes progressive deterioration of motor cells in the spinal cord and brain. These cells control the muscles needed to speak, swallow, walk, and eventually, breathe. The cause and cure are unknown. Remembering my dad’s strength during his fight with ALS empowers and inspires me to accomplish this goal. I am asking for your support. If you are available on November 16th (beginning at 8am) to cheer me on during the race route, I would deeply appreciate that, as I will need all the help I can get! (I figure the race will take me at least 5.5 hours) To view the course, click here. I am also asking for your fundraising support. A contribution of any amount will help in the fight towards finding a cure for ALS. You may donate via the ALS Hope Foundation website, or if you prefer, you may also send a check payable to: ALS Hope Foundation Send to: Deborah Godert 706 Brent Avenue #L South Pasadena, CA 91030 I sincerely appreciate your support and friendship. My heartfelt thanks and love, Deborah Godert Deborah Godert To sponsor Deborah Godert in the Pasadena Marathon, click here |
